Alex Albon Commends Williams Car Upgrade In Montreal, Canada GP
Alex Albon has some nice comments on William's upgraded car and that evidence in his outcome at the Canadian Grand Prix which was a season-high of seventh place at the final.
As for him, his car could only be "super" and in comparison to some of his counterparts, was quicker on the straight and he did use outpacing Esteban Ocon as his yardstick when asked. Though he admitted the final was "stressful", he yet maintained the performance was "more than expected" for him.
"It was great. It was super," said Albon on his view on the final in Montreal. "It was stressful as well I have to say that."
Unlike the qualifying, the weather was dry and favourable on Sunday. Williams game plan on pitting was another that worked for the team as Albon only pitted once and did the rest of the laps on hard tyres. Thus, it is understandable when he lamented about the stress from the race.
"Obviously, the closing speed of the cars behind was quite big so I didn't this I would be able to hold them off," he recalled on running on old tyres in the later part of the race.
Meanwhile, Albion's car was Williams' only upgrade on the grid with new major updates on which his team-mate Logan Sargeant did not have on - his was yet the old version.
Commending the performance of his car, Albon added: "George looked like he ran into some brake issues, and Esteban didn't have the straight-line speed to get past us."
