Tina Turner Passes Away, Aged 83
Tina Turner, an American female music legend, famous for her hit song What's Love Got To Do With It, has passed away. She was aged 83.
The deceased was understood to have died in her home in Switzerland after a long battle with stroke, cancer and kidney failure related ailments.
She announced her retirement from music in 2021, and in the same year, she sold her music catalogue right to a publishing company named BMG. The decision she said would help protect her craft and also music inheritance like any other artists.
Tina started off her career in the 60s with her first husband Ike Turner but that relationship hit the rock and they split over domestic abuse. She later found another lover, Erwin Bach, whom she married in 2013 after a long date and both moved in together to settle in Switzerland.
Known as the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll, she during her active years, won eight grammy awards amongst which was record of the year for hit 'What's Love Got To Do With It' in 1985. She was inducted into Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
