Premier League: Man. City Retake Table lead As Erling Haaland Makes History
Manchester City have reclaimed the table lead following a seemingly comfortable 3-0 victory against West Ham at Etihad Stadium and are now leading on a point clear.
Erling Haaland had a historic game as he becomes the all-time most goalscorer in a single season in the Premier League with 35 goals and his 51st goal in all competitions, all on his debut.
There were couple of chances missed in the first half. Eventually, the three goals came in in the second half and City went in the lead with a header from Nathan Ake following a free-kick.
Haaland doubled the lead by lobbying the ball over Lukasz Fabianski following a fast break followed by Phil Foden smashing home the winner on the 80th minute.
As the league title race heats up between City and Arsenal, winning the remaining games is crucial. Nevertheless, they have remained unbeaten against West Ham in 15 games, thus coming into the game could not have been worrying.
