Premier League: Arsenal Forfeit Title Race In Loss To Brighton

It could not be more than a huge setback for Arsenal to have lost 3-0 to Brighton at Emirates Stadium, and the defeat in consequence have dropped Gunners out of the Premier League title race.

A multiple of situations robbed Arsenal of the game and it was also a function of their own doing conceding all the three goals in the second half.

Pervis Estupirian's lob found Julio Enciso for a header that gave Brighton the lead in the 51st minute. With four minutes remaining, Denis Undav lobbed in the second goal from the edge of the box after reacting to a loose ball from Leandro Trossard's deflected shot.

Estupirian eventually got his goal and the winner for Brighton in injury time as Aaron Ramsdale parried Undav's shot to his path and he struck the ball home.

The loss will see Arsenal trail their rivals, Manchester City by four points and that might forfeit their hope of lifting the silverware for the first time since 2004. However, City now have the margin needed to defend the title they won last season.

Unlike Arsenal, Brighton are no where close to Premier League title race, however, the victory helped keep the side in the top six for a Europa League slot.
