Monaco Grand Prix: Esteban Ocon Makes Podium As Max Verstappen Wins For Second Season In A Row

Max Verstappen fought off adverse weather condition to win Monaco Grand Prix for Red Bull and their second season in a row whilst team-mate Sergio Perez bagged a penalty.

Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was the driver to watch out for Verstappen and Alpine's Esteban Ocon defiled multiple adversity from delay in pit to front wing damage to clinch a podium position in third position behind Alonso.

Besides Verstappen pacing ahead to maintain lead from pole start, pitting was another tactics that worked out well for Red Bull when it gradually began to rain.

Whilst Alonso waited until he could not help but pit to change tyres when it was really wet, Verstappen quickly changed from medium to intermediate tyres. That helped him in the latter part of the race and led on to the chequered flag.

Meanwhile, despite pitting for a new tyres just like every other drivers did, Alonso yet finished second. Though, he needed the win for his first victory in  Monaco since 2007 but a podium finish in second is complimentary.

Mercedes duo, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell could make much of their newly updated cars and benefited from penalty served Perez for colliding with Russell. Both Hamilton and Lewis moved up the stats to finish fourth and fifth respectively.

The victory pushed Verstappen further  ahead in driver standings with 144 points and 39 points clear nearest rival, Perez.
