Europa: Jose Mourinho's Roma Take Semis First-leg Win Against Leverkusen

Jose Mourinho's AS Roma got off to a good start to the Europa League semis with a 1-0 win against Leverkusen in the first-leg tie.

Roma shocked their German opponents with the winner in the second half as Edoardo Bove struck home the goal after Tammy Abraham's volley was saved to his reach.

Leverkusen did have more chances than Roma, but lacked that finishing touch needed to level the scoring. Jeremie Frimpong nearly drew a penalty for the side when Bryan Cristante blocked his shot on the line.

Roma's manager, Mourinho will be faced with the task of getting his men through to the final in a week's time as he edged towards winning his second silverware for the side.
