Premier League: Liverpool Meet Disappointing Loss At Man. City
Liverpool met a staunch opposition at Manchester City where they lost 4-1 as the hosts come from behind to take a big home win to keep their race for table lead against leaders, Arsenal alive.
City did not take too long to pounce in an equalizer from Julain Alvare's finish of Jack Grealish's cross after Mohamed Salah's curled shot had put Liverpool ahead following a counter-attack in the 17th minute.
Goal came so early for City in the second half as Kevin de Bruyne slide in Riyadh Mazreh's cross just a minute after the break for City's second goal. Liverpool were not their very best at the time and City were just all over the place, and was followed with Ilkay Gundogan dunking in the third before Grealish got his goal in the 74th minutes for City's fourth.
Liverpool were no match for City for most of the game and that was with the hosts playing without their top goalscorer, Erling Haaland who was ruled out for a groin injury.
City reduced the trail to the table top to eight points as Pep Guardiola recorded his 100th home win in the Premier League with the club. Meanwhile, Liverpool winless away game has pounded up to eight this season and that is their longest run since 2014/15.
