Premier League: Chelsea Troubles Persist After Losing To Villa
Chelsea woes continued after losing 2-0 humbly to Aston Villa at Stanford Bridge and dropped to middle of the table on 38 points.
Villa were much clinical on the attack compared to Chelsea that had more chances but just can not get the ball past Martinez in the 18-yard box. They managed to get the ball in at one point but it was ruled out for Ben Chilwel's foul offense while in the air for a header.
A wrong back header from Cesar Azpilicueta set off Ollie Watkins for an attack and he lobbed the ball over Kepa Arrizabalaga for Villa's opening goal in 18th minute of play.
The winning goal, however, came in early into the second half and it was from an individual effort of John McGinns who lashed a 20-yard shot through to beat Kepa for Villa's second goal following a through pass from Jacob Ramsey.
Apparently, the loss has brought more pressure on Chelsea and much more on their manager, Graham Potter whose team have remained winless in four games.
