Premier League: Arsenal Split Points With Liverpool As Title Race Hots Up
Arsenal earned a consolation point at Anfield where they were held to a 2-2 draw in a comeback from Liverpool and slowed down their progression to six points clear atop the table.
Anfield had been an venue that Arsenal have found unbreakage on nine previous visits, and apparently, it that fate would remain for Arsenal when Liverpool leveled up from Roberto Firmino's header late into the second half.
Within a space of 20 minutes Arsenal had taken a two-goal lead, first with an individual effort finish from Gabriel Martinez, followed by glancing header from Gabriel Jesus two minutes before half hour of play. Mo Salah later managed to get a goal in for Reds before halftime.
Reds forced multiple of saves from Aaron Ramsdale before they finally found an equalizer when Firmino headed home Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross from inside the box in the 87th minutes.
Salah was in remarkable form for Liverpool and made great efforts at opening up Arsenal's defense, even his late curly shot was saved by the tips of diving Ramsdale's fingers. That could have sunk Arsenal in disbelief of shocking loss. However, Ramsdale made Gunners day making multiple saves.
