Israel Adesanya Reclaims UFC Title In Rematch Fight With Alex Pereira

Israel Adesanya is once again a UFC middleweight champion after taking down his arch-rival, Alex Pereira in a superb round-two knockout in their rematch fight on Saturday at UFC 287 in Miami, Florida.

Coming into the octagon, history hung over the fight for Adesanya; he needed to reclaim his title and that entailed beating Pereira whom he had lost to on three previous fights.

The champ did what was intriguing by the way he quickly send Pereira to the canvas. At this point, the Brazilian had his back on the wall before Adesanya swiftly let go of his hand from his face and landed two crushing right hooks on Pereira. That was it. The fight was over.

Pereira spun around and flat he went on the floor then, Adesanya gave a finishing blow on him before the referee stopped the fight. It was a magical finish as the audience screaming with excitement, and for some, a stunning disbelief.

"You will never feel this level of happiness if you don't go for something in your life," said Adesanya on reclaiming his title. "When they knock you down, if you stay down you will never get that resolve."

Adesanya lost middleweight title to the Brazilian in fifth-round knockout in their first fight at UFC 281 in November. Meanwhile, he had lost to his rival on two previous occasions in kickboxing in 2016 and 2017.
