Frank Lampard Takes Up Manager Role At Chelsea

Frank Lampard has once again returned to Chelsea and as the caretaker manager for the remainder of the season following his appointment as the replacement for Graham Potter by the club.

Graham was sacked after the side made a winless run of 12 successive games, and upon his assistant, Bruno Saltor assumption as the head coach for the rest of the season, the team played goalless against Liverpool on his debut on Tuesday.

"We want to give ourselves every chance of success and Frank has all of the characteristics and qualities we need to drive us to the finish line," said the club owners confirmed the appointment of the former England attacking midfielder.

Lampard had served as the club's manager between 2019 and 2021 before he was relieved of his role, and he left to join Everton, where he was later sacked in January. He has since not been engaged with managerial role until now.

In his day as Chelsea attacking midfielder in a spell that lasted for 13 seasons, he scored 211 goals in 648 games in all competitions and won with the club multiple silverware amongst which was the Champions League in 2011-12.
