Champions League: Man City Set Up Semi-final With Real Madrid
Bayern Munich have joined the exit list and are out of the Champions League. Manchester City eliminated the Bundesliga club following a 1-1 draw of the second-leg tie in Munich that gave them 4-1 lead on aggregate scores.
Erling Halland sent City through to their fifth Champions League semi-final appearance after he thoroughly finished off Kevin de Bruyne's through pass following a fastbreak earlier in the second half.
As City were in the lead, making a comeback became even harder for Bayern but they managed to get a consolation goal as Joshua Kimmick scored from a penalty drawn by Sadio Mane following a handball offense in the box.
Bayern did have an offensive start into the game with Leroy Sane making first attempt minutes after the game commenced and on another occassion forced a save following a free-kick. The side also had Mane's goal ruled out for an offside position shortly before drawing a penalty.
As Manchester City bid for their first Champions League title they will now face the litmus test with Real Madrid, who double as the defending champions in the semi-finals.
