Champions League: Chelsea Make Quarter-final After Thrilling Take Down Of B. Dortmund

Chelsea recovered from first-leg lost Borussia Dortmund to make it into the quarterfinals following a sensational 2-0 (Aggr. 2-1) comeback win against their opponents at Stanford Bridge.

The match was a show of masterclass display of skills from Chelsea and specifically Kai Havertz, who on multiple occasions was close to getting goals in until he eventually did from a penalty early into the second half.

Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling had put the side ahead minutes before halftime break when smashed a left-foot shot home from inside the box. The goal didn't happen that easily as Sterling had first missed Chilwell's square pass before getting the ball past a defender and steered it home.

The spot-kick came off Chilwell trying to square through a cross from the left flank when Marcus Wolf's hand deflected the ball whilst in the box. Havertz eventually got in the second goal.

The German player was significant to the successful outing for Chelsea who have not been faring well in the Premier League. Chelsea won their last Champions league trophy in 2020/21 under former manager Thomas Tuchel.
