Premier League: Liverpool In Shocking Defeat To Wolverhampton
Liverpool had a nightmare of a game after losing 3-0 to Wolverhampton in their third successive league game lost that further jeopardised their hope of qualifying for any continent games this season.
Wolves are not only lucky for Joel Matip's own-goal but earned a deserved victory as their two subsequent goals were well played out exploiting Liverpool's defensive flops.
Matip accidentally swept into the net Hwang Hee-Chan's cross in the 7th minute and five minutes later Craig Dawson smashed home Mattheus Cunha's cross following a free-kick.
Reds made efforts to make a comeback and on two occasions Jose Sa saved Darwin Darwin's strikes from inside the area following fast breaks. Wolves eventually settled the game with the winner from Ruben Neves finishing off Adama Traore's cross from inside the area.
Wolves could have won by bigger margin had Allison not reacted quickly and saved Max Kilman's strike after stealing the ball off Matip.
The victory gifted Wolves the points needed to come out of the relegation zone and they are the first side to lead Liverpool early into the game since 2014 against West Ham.
