Premier League: Everton Slide Into Relegation Zone After Loss To Liverpool
Liverpool are back in winning ways after three winless runs and defeated Everton 2-0 at Anfield with both goals resulting from remarkable fastbreaks.
Everton were punished for letting loose their defense in search for goal as Reds maximized opportunities handled them on the counter and sent Everton down to the relegation zone on 18 points.
Reds took the lead following a fastbreak after James Tarkowski's header struck the wood work frame and Darwin Nunez latched on with the loose ball before letting a cross for Mo Salah to poke into the net from close range.
Soon after the break, Cody Gakpo swept home Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross following a fastbreak after Alex Iwobi lost ball possession amidst Reds' players.
Jordan Pickford later stopped Darvin and Salah's efforts from extending the margin and Iwobi's cross for a chance to get a goal in for Everton was headed wide by Tom Davies.
Jurgen Klopp took the victory for his 250th win for Liverpool as the manager of the club that he lead to winning their first Premier League title in 30 years in 2019.
