Premier League: Arsenal Miss Out On Taking All Against Brentford
Arsenal have missed out on extending their table lead by eight points and drew 1-1 against Brentford at Emirates Stadium.
Gunners got the much-needed lead from Leandro Trossard after a long wait through a goalless first half but resilient Brentford responded with an equaliser from Ivan Toney eight minutes later.
Trossard ended the deadlock soon after coming in as a substitute and found the back of the net from a through ball from Bukayo Saka as Arsenal took the lead in the 66th minute.
Prior to Trossard giving Arsenal as the lead, Toney had struck a shot that clipped the frames and he rose to the occasion yet again for Bees and headed in Christian Norgaard's cross for an equalizer.
The draw was huge for Brentford who remained 13th on the table and not good on Arsenal that for the first time in over a calendar year have failed to win a Premier League game at home - their last was in January, 2022.
