Novak Djokovic Levels Steffi Graf For Most Weeks As World #1
Novak Djokovic ihas equalled Steffi Graf for most weeks as a tennis world number one having reached his 377 weeks as the number one player for men's rankings.
The Serb ace started his record equalling week on Monday that brought him to level with Steffi, who became the first tennis player ever to make the feat in 1988, the year after she topped women's rankings for most weeks as women #1.
Retired Swiss player, Roger Federer saw his record for most weeks as men's rankings for world #1 broken by Djokovic in 2021 when he started his 310th week as the world's top ranked player. He reclaimed the topspot from Spaniard ace Carlos Alcaraz after winning the Australian Open in January.
Novak Djokovic also requals with Roger Federer on most Grand Slam titles with 22. He was pronouced world number one for the first time in 2011 and had his longest run as world #1 between July 2014 and November 2016 for 122 weeks.
The 35-year-old missed on winning a Golden Slam at the Russian Olympic in 2021 after being eliminated in the semi-final by German ace Alexander Zverev. However, just as Steffi Graf, he is a 22-time Grand Slam winner.
