Europa League: Man United Edge Out Barcelona To Make Last 16
Barcelona have been kicked out in a shocking 2-1 comeback from Manchester United to lose on 4-2 aggregate at Old Trafford in the second-leg tie of the UEFA Europa League Last 32.
United made some costly mistakes before getting their acts together for a surprisingly comeback in the second half and canceled out Barcelona's lead to make it through. to Last 16
Bruno Fernandes' rough tackle on Alejandro Balde handed Barce a penalty that was converted by Roberto Lewandoski. Fred leveled the scoring for United with a strike from inside the box two minutes after the break and Anthony put United ahead steering home a loose ball from inside the box.
Barce had forced some brilliant saves from David de Gea before United seized the secomd to make a comeback. The loss brought Barcelona's dominance of making it past the knockout stages of a European compeition to a snap for the first time since 1989/99.
Whilst United are vying for their first trophy since 2017 under Jose Mourinho, they will head to Wembley for the EFL Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United on Sunday.
