EFL Carabao Cup: Man United Beat Forest In Second-leg To Progress To Final

Manchester United have advanced to the Carabao Cup final after beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 (aggregate 4-0) in the second-leg of the semi-final.

Though it took time for the goals to come by, United yet got both goals within the space of three minutes in the second half and Marcus Rashford assisted  the goalscorers - Anthony Martial and Fred - on both occasions.

Forest conceded thefirst goal from Martial sweeping in a rebound shot from Rashford, whose cross Fred later tapped home for the second goal in the 76th minute.

United's defense was put to the test in the first half when Forest's Emmanuel Deniss' volley from inside the area that could beat Tom Heaton to the post was deflected to safety by his teammate Sam Surridge.

Erik ten Hag will now lead the side to a final against Newcastle at Wembley as the team seek to win their first silverware since 2017. More so, the last time United and Newcastle met in a final such as this was in 1999 at the FA Cup final which United won by 2-0.
