Premier League: Eddie Nketiah Wrecks Man. United For Arsenal

Manchester United failed to make a point out of the five-goal thriller at Emirates Stadium having lost 3-2 to Arsenal following a stoppage time winner from Eddie Nketiah.

United had held off the chance of losing to Arsenal when Lisandro Martinez scored the equaliser after the hosts overtook the lead from a comeback but Nketiah stunner sent Red Devils home with no points.

Arsenal fought back from behind when Nketiah headed home Granit Xhaka's cross moments after Marcus Rashford's 25-yard shot beat Aaron Ramsdale to the net in the 17th minutes.

Bukayo Saka put Arsenal in the lead by powering a 25-yard shot past David de Gea early into the second half, and soon after, Martinez's header following Christian Eriksen's corner even out the scoring.

Whilst it seemed as if the game was going to end in a draw, Nketiah flicked into the net Tomiyasu Odegaard's cross for the winning goal on staoppage time. United contested the goal to be from an offside position and VAR ruled in favour of Arsenal.

The winning goal made Nketiah the second Arsenal player after Thierry Henry in 2007 to score a 90th minutes goal against United in a league game. Arsenal remained unbeaten in 13 league games in a row, making it their longest since 2018 (14 games).
