Premier League: United Beat City In Late Stunner In Manchester Derby
Manchester City's league title quest may have just suffered a setback as they lost 2-1 to Manchester United in a derby following a stuuning late comeback at Old Trafford.
United staged an unexpected turnaround with 12 minutes remaining as Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford charged the side to take the victory scoring twice within four minutes.
After an hour long of goalless play, City took the lead from Kevin de Bruyne's cross headed home by Jack Grealish beofre United leveled up when Fernandes curled home a through pass from Casemiro in the 78th minutes.
Four minutes later, United took the lead when Rashford reacted quickly and tap home Alejandro Garnacho's cross from close range.
Fernandes' equalizer was deemed controversial as City contested against it for Rashford reacting to Casemiro's cross despite already being in offside position but the referee upheld the goal anyhow.
Erik ten Hag have now led the team towin nine consecutive games in all competition and moved the side up to the third place of the top four. Winning the derby at Old Trafforf will be City's fifth in seven encounters.
