Premier League: Ibrahima Konate's Errors Cost Liverpool Too Much Against Brentford
Liverpool had a somewhat humiliating game from Brentford after losing 3-1 in a game that saw their opponents had two goals canceled by virtual assistant referee (VAR).
Whatever happened to Liverpool was made worst with multiple errors coming from Ibrahima Konate against the hosts who were in high spirit, and even an earlier scare from Darwin Nunez could not deter them from pressing on.
The opening goal came from deflection of the ball on Konate's knee following a corner, and soon after two strikes from Bees' striker Yoane Wissa were ruled out for an offside position, he retaliated heading in the second goal from Mathias Jensen's cross.
Reds returned from the break seeking to make up for the deficit and they successful narrowing Bees' lead when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain headed in their only goal from Alexander-Arnold's cross.
Instead of forcing a draw, Bees added in the third goal when a defensive flop from Konate in contest for the ball with Bryan Mbeumo inside the area gifted the ball away and Mbeumo smashed home the winning goal with ten minutes remaining.
The defeat ended Liverpool's 84 years unbeaten run against Bees and also extended their total points loss so far in this campaign to 23pts .
Brentford continued in their flying colours with sixth consecutive league game unbeaten run and earned their first win against Liverpool after nine consecutive losses in all competitions.
