FA Cup: Marcus Rashford Shines As Manchester United Beat Everton In R3
Brazilian Anthony led the scoring for Manchester United as the side defeated Everton 3-1 in the FA Cup third round match at Old Trafford.
Everton were terrific in the quest to come out victorius but could not match the Red Devils, who surged into the lead very early into the game and Everton's goalscorer Conor Coady's mistake in the second half was too costly for Frank Lampard-led side.
Marcus Rashford, though, inspirational to the opening goalwith a cross that Anthony to slid and tapped home in the fourth minute, he later converted a penalty to seal the victory for United in the injury time.
Coady's equalizer for Everton was somewhat off David de Gea goalkeeping error when he allowed Neal Maupay's cross to go through inbetween legs for Coady to poke in. Coady later scored an own goal that put United back in the lead after the halftime break when he slid and tapped into the net Rashford's cross.
Rashford extended his total score tally to 13th and has now scored in five consecutive games for United. The Erik ten Hag side now has 10 wins in eleven games played in all competitions.
