FA Cup: Kaoru Mitoma's Late Goal Pull Liverpool Out As Brighton Progress To Fifth Round
Liverpool, despite taking an early lead against Brighton have been kicked out of the FA Cup after losing 2-1 in a comeback to their opponents at Falmer Stadium.
A brilliant finish from Harvey Elliot following a through ball from Mo Salah gave Reds the lead on half hour of play before Lewis Dunk's long range shot beat Allison to the post and equalized for Brighton six minutes before halftime.
The game was eventually settled in the injury time when Kaoru Mitoma volleyed home the winner for Brighton after Pervis Estupinan picked him out with a cross inside the area.
Defending the FA Cup back-to-back has eluded Liverpool who are also ninth in the Premier League as Jurgen Klopp continued to battle with a difficut with the side.
Lifting a silverware is no longer in view for Liverpool in this campaign after they have been removed by Brighton from the FA Cu, and their only expectation now remains seeking to make the league top four or a Europa League qualification.
