Actor To Face Two-Count Charge For Tragedy On Rust Filming

Hollywood actor, Alec Baldwin will reportedly face the court on two-count charge of involuntary manslaughter following the death of Halyna Hutchin during the filming of Rust in 2021.

New Mexico lawyer, Mary Carmack-Altwies, who is handling the investigation of the incident confirmed in a statement that a lawsuit will be filled against the 64-year-old actor over the death of Halyna on the set of Rust from a gun shot that went off and killed the cinematographer.

"After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the Rust film crew," reads the statement.

Charged alongside Baldwin was the film set armourer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reeds and both risk being sentence to 18-month to five years in prison and fine of $5,000 under New Mexico law.

Meanwhile, Baldwin has often denied having any knowledge of the weapon being loaded before firing accidentally. He believed everyone on the set at the time knew who really to blame for the incident.
