World Cup 2022: England Out As France Move to Semi-finals
France have edged closer to making an appearance in the final after beating England 2-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Fifa World Cup in Qatar.
England did the best they could to make it through but France proved to be too strong and a heart wrenching missed penalty from Harry Kane guaranteed a quarter-final exit for the team.
Aurelen Tchouameni put France in the lead from 25-yard early into the game. On their return from halftime break, a rough tackle on Bukayo Saka drew a penalty for England and Kane converted the spot kick to equalize the scores.
Olivier Giroud later steered Antoine Griezmann's cross home with a header as France retook the lead before Mason Mount drew another penalty for England, unfortunately for the side Kane failed to score and England were eliminated.
England played really well and made a couple of applaudable attempts at the goa bit France, in the end, proved to be the better side and earned a well-deserved victory to progress to the semi-final to play against Morocco.
