World Cup 2022: Croatia Progress To Knockouts

Croatia have earned a place in the knockouts after a goalless draw against Belgium and finished second of Group F on five points.

Romelu Lukaku could not hold back his emotions after the Belgian side dropped out of the competition and could be seen after the game faced bent over before former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry somewhat in tears over the outcome. 

The Inter Milan forward had great chances especially when his curled shot clipped the bar and bounced off to safely. He could have put the country through to the knockouts but the Croatian held on through to ensure a goalless draw. 

Croatia also had their chances and amongst that was one that should have given the side the needed goal when VAR ruled out already awarded penalty for an offside position offence.

Croatia progressed to the Last 16 of the World Cup in Qatar alongside Morocco who lead the group on seven points and are the second African team after Senegal to qualify to the knockouts.
