World Cup 2022: Cameroon And Serbia Are Out
Cameroon have been eliminated from the Fifa World Cup in Qatar after a 1-0 win against Brazil as they finished third of Group G on four points and their Brazilian opponents are through to the knockouts.
The game was entertaining and much of a defensive approach from the Brazilians that seemed to be more interested in just keeping their opponents away from their 18-yard box as they did not feature most of their key players like Neymar Jr., Vinicius, and Richarlison.
After a goalless half, Cameroon ended the deadlock in the injury time when Vincent Aboubakar guided a header home following Ngom Mbekeli's cross and the side took the lead. Within the remaining minutes to the stoppage time, Bruno Guimaraes had a glaring chance from close range toequalize for Brazilians and his strike went just wide.
Cameroon needed Serbia to draw against Switzerland to get through to the knockouts having won against Brazil but the Swiss won by 3-2 to finish second on six points behind Brazil. The Swiss will face Portugal in the Last 16 while Brazil will take on South Korea.
