Premier League: Erling Haaland Shines As Man City Beat Leeds United
Manchester City are keeping the topspot chase alive after defeating Leeds United at home by 3-1 to reduce Arsenal's table lead.
Erling Haaland played a significant role in the win and despite a tough resilience put up by Leeds, he yet scored a double and brought his league goal tally this season to 20 - he reached the feat in 14 league games in his debut season.
City surged in the lead late in the first haaalf half when Rodrigo finished a rebound shot from Riyad Mahrez. Thn, Haaland scored both goals with assists from Jack Grealish after the break.
Grealish capitalized on a defensive error and set Haaland off for the second goal and the third came after they did one-two ball before the Norwegian lashed a side-footed shot home. Leeds' resilience later paid off with a consolation goal from Pascal Struijk's header following a corner.
Pep Guardiola's side continued to be have more goals (45) than any of their counterparts in this campaign and have reduced Arsenal's lead to five points. Leeds, on the other hands, remained winless in eight consecutive home league games.
