Premier League: Demarai Gray Leads Everton To Draw At Manchester City
Manchester City forfeited much needed maximum points as Everton forced a 1-1 draw in a hard-fought comeback as they seek to move clear the redline zone.
City enjoyed a much control first half and got rewarded with the opening goal from Erling Haaland's strike before winning the game slid off from Demarai Gray's strike.
Riyad Mahrez inspired the lead goal for City after his dribbling effort clear the way for a pass to Harland for a neat finish from close range before half hour of play.
City returned from halftime break to face a resilient Everton and a flaw from Rodri gifted the ball away to Gray, who latched on with the ball and curled home an equalizer from inside the area in the 64th minute.
Efforts from City to retake the lead failed as John Stones' dive header following a free-kick from Kevin de Bruyne clipped the crossbar and Mahrez's shot following multiple rowdy attempts was saved by Jordan Pickford.
The draw is tge the first point Everton earned from a league game against City since 2017 as the Frank Lampard-led side fights on to stay above the relegation zone on 14 points.
