World Cup 2022: Morocco Takes Group Lead As Belgium Losses
Morrocco delivered a shocking performance that saw Belgium defeated 2-0 in their second Group F game and moved up to lead the table on four points.
Belgium came under repeated onslaught from Morocco, who despite having the VAR rule out Hakim Ziyech's goal from a free-kick in the first half, yet went ahead to score two late goals to win the game.
Abdelhanid Sabiri replicated Ziyech's effort and restored Morocco in the lead by scoring from a free-kick with 17-minute remaining and Ziyeck's cutback following a fast break was finished off by Zakaria Aboukhlal for the winning goal in injury time.
The Chelsea attacking midfielder, Ziyech played a significant role in the side's rise to victory while his clu-mate and a loanee to Inter Milan Romelu Lukaku was kept in check by the moroccans throughout the game.
