World Cup 2022: Casemiro Sends Brazil To Knockout Stages
Brazil are through to the knockout stages, thanks to the lone-goal scored by Casemiro as the side defeated Switzerland by 1-0 and topped Group G on six points.
After a goalless first half during which Brazil escaped conceding a goal late into the half, they returned from break to win when a cut back from Rodrygo was steered into the net by Casemiro.
The goal margin should have been wider but Vinicius Jrs could not finish off a fast break that should have doubled the lead, and another occasion was when his cross was missed by Richarlison who latched onto the cross for a poke into the net.
Brazil are guaranteed place in the Last 16 of the World Cup and Switzerland must win their game against Serbia to qualify for the knockout stages.
