Paris Masters: Novak Djokovic, Felix Auger-Aliassime Reach Quarterfinal
Karen Khachanov is out of the Paris Masters after losing R16 match to Novak Djokovic in a straight-set.
Novak outlasted the Russian comfortably claiming a 6-4 6-1 win and making four breaks against his opponent who had just a break point in the first set.
As the Serb vy for his seventh Paris Masters title and his fifth title this season he will meet in the quarterfinals Spanish ace Carlos Alcaraz.
In a separate match, Canadian ace Felix Auger-Aliassime won the R16 match against Gilles Simon in straight-sets 6-1 6-3 which was the Frenchman's final in the sport.
Gilles was easily routed by Felix, who has now qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy and will meet American Frances Tiafoe in the quarterfinals.
Gilles brought his 20-year career to an end with a speech in which he described himself as being "lucky" to have been a professional player for that long.
He hadded: "I just always loved tennis and it's very interesting for me. It's a very interesting game. So many things on so many levels. Physically, technically, mentally, everything."
