Nitto ATP Finals: Noval Djokovic Wins Season Ending Title For Sixth Time
Novak Djokovic has won the Nitto ATP Finals trophy for a record sixth time after beating Casper Ruud in a straight sets 7-5 6-3 in Turin.
The Serb came into the finals hoping to snap his season-ending title drought since 2015 and he managed to make it happen and also remained unbeaten against the Norwegian. The victory made Djokovic, 35, the oldest champion of the tournament.
"It's final, ussally these kind of matches are decided by very small margins," said Djokovic who will earn excess of $4.7 million from winning the trophy and has also scored 1,500 ATP Ranking points.
He added: "At the same time, the fact that I waited seven years makes the victory even sweater and even bigger,"
He now equals with Roger Federer on all-time Nitto ATP Finals singles with six titles and following the duo is Pete Sampres and Ivan Lendl with five titles each.
