It Is Over For Cristiano Ronaldo At Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo has got his contract with Manchester United terminated as the club finalised its decision on the player's controversial interview with former TV host on CNN, Piers Morgan.
United confirmed the termination on Tuesday that Ronaldo's exit from the club is with "immediate effect". However, the decision was mutually agreed on and the club thanked him for his spell at Old Trafford.
"Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team's progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch," the club said in a statement.
Ronaldo criticised the club manager Erik ten Hag in his interview with Piers Morgan and mentioned that he has "no respect for him [Erik]" because he felt he has not treated rightly under him.
United signed the former Real Madrid star last season to a two-year contract on his return to Old Trafford. The forward earned £500,000-a-week from the contract and his exit meant he is now a free agent.
