World Cup 2022: Wales Endures Draw With United States On First Opening Game In 64 Years
Gareth Bale inspired Wales to force a 1-1 draw against the United States on their opening game as the former Real Madrid star leads his country to its first Fifa World Cup campaign since 1958.
The Americans stood the chance to win after taking the lead from Tim Weah's brilliant strike following a through pass from Christian Pulisic but they later lost the lead when Bale drew a penalty for Wales over Walker Zimmerman's rough tackle.
