Premier League: Man United Comfortably Beat Tottenham
Manchester United put up an impressive performance to claim a comfortable 2-0 win against Tottenham that remained in the trail behind Manchester City and table leaders, Arsenal.
Spurs had the privilege of keeping the first half goalless despite United making the most of their chances and that changed quickly after the break as Fred put Red Devils ahead with a shot that was deflected on Ben Davies and beat Hugo Lloris to the goal.
Lloris had successful kept United at bay from the goal having made some incredible saves before United could find the back of the net. Red Devils kept the pressure up on Spurs and a curled shot from Bruno Fernandes beat Lloris again to the goal and they went two goals ahead just after an hour of play.
The goal make off a deflection of Fred's weak shot on Eric Dier and the loose ball bounced off to Fernandes who curled the ball home from inside the 18-yard box.
United were for the most part of the game the better side and had multiple chances in both halves denied them by Spurs' goalkeeper which could have widened the goal margin than it was. The victory moved Erik ten Hag's men closer to top four of the table in fifth place.
Spurs defeat comes as their second defeat in two successive league game and the hope of being in title contest might gradually be sliding away.
