Premier League: Arsenal Beat 10-Man Spurs In London-Derby
Arsenal saw the London-derby against Tottenham through to a 3-1 victory that sent the Mikel Arteta-led side atop the table with four points clear.
10-man Spurs were well dominated by Arsenal for the most of the game but that became even worse when Emeron Royal was red carded while they really needed a lifeline to make a comeback.
Gabriel Jesus gave away a chance to score to Spur when he drew a penalty for a foul offence on Richarlison just after Thomas Partey had scored the opening goal for Arsenal by side-footing a 25-yard shot home.
Harry Kane converted that penalty to level up with Gunners and that made it his 100th away league goal. Then, Hugo ILoris' goalkeeping error allowed Gabriel to score just after the break and Arsenal retook the lead.
The hope to comeback into the game was lost after Granit Xhaka's low-cut beat ILori to the goal for Arsenal's third goal just five minutes after Emerson was red carded.
Arsenal have maintained resilience in holding on to the top spot this season and have only lost a game so far - 3-1 loss to Man. United last month. Gabriel's transfer has also proven to be effective to the team as the Brazilian striker has contributed five goals in eight appearances.
