Phil Collins Sells Rights To Music Catalogue
Phil Collins and his Genesis bandmates have joined the list of artists whose songs' catalogues have been transferred to new owners as they have agreed to sell the rights to their music to a company named, Concord Music.
The amount involved was initially undisclosed but as reported by Wall Street Jornal, Corncord Music bought the rights from the band for a whopping $300m (£269m).
At that amount, Collins and his mates have bagged one of the biggest deals for a catalogue sale but it trailed those signed Bob Dylan's ($400m) and Bruce Springsteen's ($500m).
Collins and his band are such a big name in the music industry because they have one of the biggest record sales in history - 150m album copies sold worldwide. In terms of awards they didn't miss out as they have won eight Grammys and six Brit awards.
