Chelsea In Deadline Day Haul, Sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Denis Zakaria
Chelsea had to go out for a signing haul on Deadline Day in this transfer window and completed two transfers, for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria.
Aubameyang made his return to the premier League a season after he left Arsenal to join Barcelona in a contract with buyout clause of £83.4m. He now joined Chelsea for £10.3m and would be wearing the No. 9 shirt.
Blues defensive lineup also received a boost with the signing of Zakaria to a loan contract from Juventus with an option to retain the defender permanently after a season-long loan spell. The London-based had just signed former Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly with whom they have had long interest before they finally succeeded to get.
On the same day, Marcos Alonso and Billy Gilmour left Chelsea, and for the former, he is leaving on mutual consent reportedly to sign for Barcelona while the later has joined Brighton and Albion Hove in a permanent deal.
The overall spending for Chelsea so far this season is reportedly in the region of over £250m which is the biggest ever for a single club in the Premier League - the first season of the club's new owner Todd Boehly.
