Premier League: Man United Win First Game This Season In Victory Against Liverpool
Manchester United have had their first league game win of the season after beating Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford and have moved up from the bottom of the table to the 14th position.
United fell to the bottom of the table for the first time in 30 years after losing 4-0 to Brentford on their second league game of the season. The situation is precarious and United found the need to tidy up the midfield by completing the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid to a £70m deal after their disgraceful outings - the player was unveiled Tuesday before the match kicked off.
The opening goal came from Jadon Sancho's brilliant finish early into the game and Marcus Rashford followed up with the second after the halftime break. Mohamed Salah managed a header to pull a goal back for Liverpool with nine minutes remaining but the Reds failed to make a comeback to get their first win of the season.
United manager Erik ten Hag might have just managed to stem the pressure from their previous losses by winning against Liverpool and the club fans were supportive throughout the game as they chanted their support for the team until the end of the match.
