Premier League: Liverpool Force Draw Against Fulham
Liverpool made a comeback twice on the season opening day to force draw against Fulham, courtesy of their newly-signed signed Darwin Nunez, who came off the bench to make an impact on his debut.
Nunez was signed for £64m from Benfica this summer and Reds did get their money's worth when he equalised Fulham's lead after coming in as a substitute for Roberto Firmino.
The hosts, Fulham, had taken the lead after half hour of play by Aleksandra Mitrovic heading home Kenny Tete's cross. They retook the lead by Mitrovic converting a penalty drawn from Virgil van Dijk foul play on him in the box.
Liverpool yet again found the back of the net when Nunez pass got through to Mohamed Salah for the finish from close range with 10 minutes remaining.
The first half didn't actually go easy for Fulham as Luiz Dias struck a curling shot caught the woodwork after he had a goal ruled out for offside position.
As Reds have had the former forward Sadio Mane moved to Chelsea, they might have just found succour in Nunez. Thiago Alcantara suffered what seemed to be hamstring injury during the game and his exit was a blow to Reds' defence.
