Premier League: Erling Haaland Scores Hattrick As Man. City Beat Palace From Comeback
Machester City fought back a should-be home defeat from Crystal Palace to earn a 4-2 win with Erling Haaland scoring his second hattrick for the side.
Palace had the better side of the game for most the first half and ended with Patrick Vieira left with figuring out what went wrong. Yet, his men's pressure on City paid off when John Stones scored an own goal early into the game.
It got worse for City when Eberechi Eze's cross following a corner set up a header from Joachim Anderson and the hosts' deficit doubled before half hour of play.
The tidy began to change for City after the break when Bernando Silva struck a shot following a Rodri's cross and was deflected on Jeffrey Sclupp to the goal.
To Palace's shock, Erling powered a header home from close range following a cross from Phil Foden and Norwegian later tapped home a loose side-foot shot from Stones to give City the lead.
Erling completed the hattrick and a victory for the hosts as he latched onto a through pass from Ilkay Gundogan and while in between two defenders struck home the fourth for City.
Pep Guardiola was able to turn the tide against Patrick whose side did not lose against City in two previous games and won their previous away game at Etihad Stadium.
City, the league title defending champions, have returned to the top of the table but in second place behind Arsenal who leads with 12 points.
