Karim Benzema Named Men's Uefa Player of the Year 2021/22
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has been named the prize winner of men's Uefa Player of the Year 2021/22 award for leading the club to a double trophy stint, the Spanish La Liga and the Champions League.
The Frenchman was contended against by players such as Thibaut Courtois, Kevin de Bruyne, Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the 15-man list of nominees released by the governing body on 12, August.
Carlos Ancelotti of Real Madrid was named Coach of the Year 2021/22 following his successful outing to win the club's 35th Champions League title and he became the first manager to win the trophy in all top five Europe's league.
England women's manager Sarina Wiegman, who led the Lionesses to win the Euros, also joined in on the list as the women's Uefa Coach of the Year - She led the country to winning the tournament for the first time.
