Premier League: Romeo Lavia Leads Southampton Past Chelsea

Chelsea fell to a stunning comeback from Southampton and lost in a 2-1 defeat that made it their second league game loss of the season while their opponents secured their second win.

The game should have gone Thomas Tuchel's men way, but defensive errors would rob them of the game and composure. The game swung to Saints' favour just after Blues have taken the lead through their newly-signed player, Raheem Sterling.

In less than half hour of play, the game had witnessed two game that came in within a space of five minutes. Sterling led the way for Chelsea with a superb finish before Saints' Romeo Lavia responded with a dazzling shot that beat Edouard Mendy to the goal following a poor clearing from Cesar Azpilicueta.

As Chelsea's control of the game began to suffer from that point on, Saints seized another moment on the brink of half time as Adam Armstromg finished an assist from Romain Perraud for the second goal and completed the comeback.

Interestingly, both Sterling and Lavia are former Manchester players, however, the former is the leading goal scorer for his side so far into the season. Chelsea, having lost the game, dropped in the stat to eight just behind their opponents.
