World Athletics Championships 2022: Tobi Amusan Breaks World Record Twice To Win Gold For Women's 100M Hurdles
Tobi Amusan has become the first Nigerian ever to be women's 100m hurdles champion as she set a new world record in 12.06 seconds in Oregun, United States.
The Nigerian had first broken the previous world record set for 12.20 seconds by American Keni Harrison when she topped the semifinal by finishing fastest in 12.12 seconds.
Harrison, who held the previous world champion title failed to make the podium in the final as Jamaican Britany Anderson finished second for silver medal and Puerto Rican Jasmine Camacho-Quinn came third.
The new world record set by Amusan in 12.06 from 12 20 in 2016 is the biggest drop in history of the competition. She won for her country its first gold medal in this competition.
