World Athletics Championships 2022: Ese Brume Wins Sliver For Nigeria In Women's Long Jump
Ese Brume has earned her country, Nigeria its second medal at the ongoing 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregun as she jumped 7.02m to win the silver medal in women's long jump.
Just few hours after her compatriot Tobi Amusan won a gold medal in 100m hurdles, Ese finished second behind Germany's Olympic champion Malaika Mihambo who won the gold medal.
Malaika was the favourite to win the contest and she lived up to expectations when she jumped 7.12m on her last attempt. That put her in pole for the gold medal. Following in third for the bronze medal was Brazilian Oro Melo.
Nigeria now has a total of two medals - gold (1) and silver (1) and is in the 13th position on the medals table.
