Azerbaijan Grand Prix: Charles Leclerc Takes Pole For Second Time In A Row
Charles Leclerc will starting in pole position in the final of Azerbaijan Grand Prix on his second successive pole win for Ferarri in Baku, making him the first driver to make a back-to-back pole in Azerbaijan.
Sergio Perez was the leading driver at the practice session but lost making the pole to Leclerc. However, he managed to outpace his teammate Max Verstappen to finish second for Red Bull.
Lecler topped the race 1:41.359s for his sixth pole this season - the lowest start Lecelerc has has been P2 in eight races this season. His teammate Carlos Sainz will be starting in P4.
Seven-times F1 title winner, Lewis Hamilton fell out of top five and was outpaced by his teammate George Russell, who finished fifth as he will start in the seventh position. In spite of that, he is under investigation for infringing on both McLaren driver in Q2.
Alpha Tauri's Pierre Gasly is sandwiched between the Mercedes drivers and will start in P6.
Aston Martin's Lance Stroll had a dramatic race to forget as he was red flagged at Turn 7 in Q1 for crashing into the barrier and damaged his car and his front wing flew out onto the track. His teammate, Sebastian Vettel, had an impressive race and finished ninth.
