Premier League: Newcastle Shatter Arsenal's Top Four Hope
Newcastle United are the spoilers of Arsenal's hope of making the leap onto the top four as they thrashed the Londoners in shocking 2-0 loaa at St. James Park.
A win would have given Gunners the maximum points needed to leap forward to fourth and drop Tottenham to their position. However, they weren't that impressive to make that happen as Newcastle's keeper Martin Dubravka was almost undisturbed until Mohamed Elneny put him to test with 25-yard shot.
After a goalless first half, Magpies broke the deadlock with an own goal from Ben White while under pressure from the hosts' forward Callum Wilson.
Shortly after Wilson made an attempt at the goal from 40-yard but missed by inches, Bruno Guimaraes doubled and completed the victory by slamming home a loose ball after Ramsdale saved an attempt from Wilson.
In order for Arsenal to regain their Champions League hope, they will have to win their next game against Everton. However, they will also need Norwich to beat Tottenham for them to leap over to the top four.
