Monaco Grand Prix: Sergio Perez Wins Race Smeared With Protest
It was a unpleasant chaotic start at Monaco Grand Prix and Red Bull team boss was not happy with the race which Red Bull's Sergio Perez won for his first Grand Prix win of the season.
Bad weather condition caused the race to be delayed for more than an hour and that didn't sit right with some drivers and eventually it ended with a dry weather condition. Red Bull's Perez rightly exploited that by finishing quickest even on wear tyres.
Home favourite Charles Leclerc finished fourth for Ferarri while his teammate Carlos Sainz came second. However, Ferarri found a fault with Red Bull pit stops and alleged them of Infringement.
Ferarri alleged their rivals of malpractices for crossing the yellow line when leaving the pit on lap 23 but the stewards had cleared the drivers of any penalties during the race.
Defending champion Max Verstappen finished third and extended his F1 title race leadership over Leclerc by nine points.
"I think both Red Bulls were on the Yellow line at the exit," said Ferarri boss Binotto. "In the past that has always been penalised with a five-second penalty."
FIA later confirmed they had summoned Red Bull and are under investigation over the allegations.
Haas' driver Mick Schumacher has a ghastly accident when his car ripped in two halves but the German came escaped the incident unarmed.
Mercedes George Russell missed podium position as he came fifth while his teammate and the seven-time champion, Lewis Hamilton finished eighth.
